FreshRoast Plus 8 Home Coffee Roaster

The FreshRoast Plus 8 home coffee roaster is one of the finest home coffee roasters on the market. Further, because it roasts a small quanity, it is also the fastest (From start to finish in about 5-7 minutes). The FreshRoast Plus 8 is easy to use, well built, quiet, and easy to clean. It is capable of roasting one pot (12 cups) of coffee at a time, making it the perfect roaster for the casual consumer.

Instructions for Roasting Green Coffee Beans

Remove top and basket assembly.

Fill glass chamber with approx 3 oz of green coffee beans of your choice. This will fill the chamber to just below the metal band.

Replace top and basket assembly then set timer to between 5 and 6 minutes for the first roast. Monitor the roast and add time (before entering cooldown) if the roast is too light. This will enable you to establish the proper timing for your machine.

There is an automatic 2 minute cooldown following the timed setting.

Allow beans to cool and machine to turn off before removing top, basket, and glass chamber.

When machine turns off your beans are ready to grind and brew.

Tips:

Remember all green coffee beans roast differently, with some roasting much quicker than others.
After about 4 - 5 minutes of roasting you will hear the beans crackle and pop. As the roast progresses to the 5 - 6 minute mark a rapid crackling sound will begin. At this point you should advance the timer to the cool zone.

You can also tilt the unit back to improve agitation. Just place a pen or pencil under the front edge of the unit before you start. This will slow the roast slightly by allowing more heat to escape.
